The Greatness of Oneness - Charles D. Harris
The last few weeks we
have been looking at Divine Alignment with respect to the issue of how we
perceive our self-worth. The reason that
this is so important is that human beings are created with a self-worth hunger,
a vacuum in our souls that needs to be filled.
Beloved, I pray
that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul
prospers. (3 John 1:2 NASB)
Listen to The Greatness of Oneness
Being one…
So, what’s the
greatest commandment?
29 Jesus answered,
"The foremost is, 'HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; 30
AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR
SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.' 31 "The second
is this, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' There is no other
commandment greater than these." - Mar 12:29-31 NASB
Jesus is the word
obviously but He is speaking what was spoken back in Deuteronomy 6 from Moses
to Israel
4 "Hear,
O Israel! The LORD is our God; the LORD is one! 5 "You shall love the LORD your God
with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6
"These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. -
Deu 6:4-6 NASB
The word hear in
Hebrew is the shma which is hearing and doing.
We become double minded or our hearts become hardened when we hear and
don’t act on what we hear.
The word one in Hebrew
is Echad which is functioning as one unit…together
It was that way
from the beginning
When God created the world,
there is a oneness with the word he spoke which came into being. When He created man, he said
26 Then God said,
"Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;
and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and
over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that
creeps on the earth." - Gen 1:26 NASB
there is a “Echad” intent
with Father, Son and Holy Spirit and His creation… man.
It is not good that man is alone
From man, he formed
woman and established echad between husband and wife
[Gen 2:24 KJV] 24
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his
wife: and they shall be one flesh.
So, what happened…
Man, established echad
with the voice of another and the allure of being like God knowing good and
evil. With that power, I have the
ability to determine what or who is right or wrong and judge based on
that.
Because of that we
continue to struggle and do what is right in our own eyes. It starts out subtle at first then grows into
a place where our hearts are hardened.
We become double
minded because we are waffling between two opinions or voices. We want to be right and righteous.
21 Elijah came near
to all the people and said, "How long will you hesitate between two
opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But
the people did not answer him a word. - 1Ki 18:21 NASB
6 But he must ask
in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the
sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that man ought not to expect that he
will receive anything from the Lord, 8 being a double-minded man, unstable in
all his ways. - Jas 1:6-8 NASB
Yeshua came to
reconcile us back to the father. The Lord MUST be One in our hearts and lives.
Yeshua’s earnest
prayer for us is demonstrated in John 17
1 Jesus spoke these
things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, "Father, the hour has
come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, 2 even as You gave Him
authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give
eternal life. 3 "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only
true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4 "I glorified You on the
earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 "Now,
Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You
before the world was. 6 "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You
gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they
have kept Your word. 7 "Now they have come to know that everything You
have given Me is from You; 8 for the words which You gave Me I have given to
them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You,
and they believed that You sent Me. 9 "I ask on their behalf; I do not ask
on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are
Yours; 10 and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I
have been glorified in them. 11 "I am no longer in the world; and yet they
themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your
name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are. 12
"While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have
given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of
perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled. 13 "But now I come to
You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made
full in themselves. 14 "I have given them Your word; and the world has
hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 "I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from
the evil one. 16 "They are not of the world, even as I am not of the
world. 17 "Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. 18 "As You
sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19 "For
their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in
truth. 20 "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who
believe in Me through their word; 21 that they may all be one; even as You,
Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world
may believe that You sent Me. 22 "The glory which You have given Me I have
given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 I in them and You
in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You
sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. 24 "Father, I desire
that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may
see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of
the world. 25 "O righteous Father, although the world has not known You,
yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me; 26 and I have made
Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which
You loved Me may be in them, and I in them." - Jhn 17:1-26 NASB

1.) Confess and
acknowledge that YOU RECEIVE His earnest prayer for you! I renounce all
judgments about myself and align with YOUR thoughts and plans for me. Lord remind me when I get to judging myself
for you reserved judgement even though you are judge of the earth.
4 For Christ is the
end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. 5 For Moses writes
that the man who practices the righteousness which is based on law shall live
by that righteousness. 6 But the righteousness based on faith speaks as
follows: "DO NOT SAY IN YOUR HEART, 'WHO WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN?' (that
is, to bring Christ down), 7 or 'WHO WILL DESCEND INTO THE ABYSS?' (that is, to
bring Christ up from the dead)." 8 But what does it say? "THE WORD IS
NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"--that is, the word of faith
which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord,
and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with
the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says,
"WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED." - Rom 10:4-11
