The Key of Alignment: Self-Worth. The New Man, Part 2 - David Mitts
Last
few weeks we have been looking at Divine Alignment with respect to the issue of
how we perceive our self-worth. The
reason that this is so important is that human beings are created with a
self-worth hunger, a vacuum in our souls that needs to be filled.

Listen to Self-Worth. The New Man, Part 2
Beloved,
I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your
soul prospers. (3 John 1:2 NASB)
We see
a connection between soul prosperity and financial prosperity and health. The word translated as “prosper” means
literally to be “well on your way”. The
picture I see in this is a sojourner who has found his or her path and is
secure into it. This is a result of
knowing God intimately and knowing His confidence and pleasure in you.
I
remember when we prayed about coming to Seattle. The Lord spoke, “whatever you decide I’ll be
with you”. This is a statement of trust
and empowerment. This is all I needed to
know is that I was trusted to make the right decision. This is a level of authority in the spirit.
Yeshua
received a value statement, or if you will, a prosperity in His soul from the
Father when He was baptized by John.
And a voice from heaven said,
"This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." (Matthew
3:17 NIV)
As the
Son of Man, He was tempted at all places that we are.
"For we do not have a High
Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without
sin." Heb 4:15 (NKJV)
So,
all the weaknesses we have, He had. So He needed to be affirmed, to have His
worth affirmed by the Father. It is by
design. We also have that same need.
The
second point that we made is that we are designed to also need affirmation from
one another.
Genesis
2:18
"And the LORD God said,
"It is not good that man
should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to
him."" Gen 2:18 (NKJV)
The
helper in this case is woman. But the
essential point I want to make is that we were designed for receiving value
from others as well. We need to hear our
worth from God but we also need to hear it from others.
Then
last week we looked the baptism itself and the death that it represents to the
old man. This gives us the reality that
our worth ultimately is developed by allowing the death of the identity that we
were prior to the cross and our new birth.
This place is called transformation.
It is the transformation that is brought about by the renewing of the
mind.
In
this place, we can appropriate the promises of God and in that place enter into
His rest. The place of His rest, is the
Shabbat reality and the reality of the seventh month.
Turn
with me to Hebrews 4:1-4:
"Therefore, since a
promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have
come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them;
but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith
in those who heard it. For we
who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: "SO I SWORE IN MY
WRATH, 'THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST,' " although the works were finished
from the foundation of the world. For He has spoken in a certain place of the
seventh day in this way:
"AND GOD RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS
WORKS";" Heb 4:1-4 (NKJV)
The
promises of God activate His rest. The
method is to activate them by hearing them and receiving them into our
hearts. The works are finished from the
foundation of the world. What does that mean?
Well
let’s skip down to Hebrews 4:9-12
"There remains therefore a
rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also
ceased from his works as God did
from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall
according to the same example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper
than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and
of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the
heart." Heb 4:9-12 (NKJV)
NOW, the key to getting this is to
think about what the “works” are. We
know the works are represented by the 6 days before Shabbat. Shabbat is the 7th day reality,
the reality of rest. It is the reality
of Yeshua. He is the Lord of the Shabbat!
"For the Son of Man is
Lord even of the Sabbath."" Mat 12:8 (NKJV)
This
means that the Sabbath reality is entered into through Him. He is the activation key. So the writer of Hebrews continues by
speaking of the Word of God that is sharper than any two-edged sword, a divider
of spirit and soul, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Can
you see it? He is the Word. Through His death, the spirit and soul are
divided. What belongs to the spirit is
in the spirit and what is of the soul is in the soul. Soul prosperity or fullness of soul identity
comes from the Word speaking in our heart.
He is
the Word and so His voice is the key to the discerning of the thoughts and
intents of the heart. This is the entry
point to the 7th day reality of rest,
Activation
Since we are entering the 7th month we have a unique opportunity to activate this reality here today in a special way.
Since we are entering the 7th month we have a unique opportunity to activate this reality here today in a special way.
The 7th
month begins the declaration of Kingdom advancement in our lives. Jericho was the picture of this. At Jericho we have the picture of Yom Teruah,
the first day of the 7th month.
What happens? The Shofar and the
Shout!
For
what purpose? The declaration of the
Kingdom! It shatters the walls of the
enemy!
Look
with me at 1 Thess 4:16-18:
For the Lord himself will come
down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with
the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we
who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
Therefore encourage one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 NIV)
Today,
is the Shabbat before Yom Teruah. We are
entering into the 7th month, the month that is a picture and an
activation opportunity to enter into a state of being called the rest of the
Lord.
This
is a time of a new kind of harvest.
Mostly we operate in the harvest of sowing and reaping. We sow into a reaping. But in the 7th month reality, the
day of rest, there is a different type of reality present. Turn with me to Amos 9:11-13
"On that day I will raise
up The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, And repair its damages; I
will raise up its ruins, And rebuild it as in the days of old; That they may possess
the remnant of Edom And all the Gentiles who are called by My name," Says
the Lord who does this thing. "Behold, the days are coming," says the
Lord, "When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, And the treader of
grapes him who sows seed; The mountains shall drip with sweet wine, And all the
hills shall flow with it. (Amos 9:11-13 NKJV)
This
is the time we are in. David’s tabernacle is being restored. The gentiles are being called by His name and
therefore the plowman is overtaking the reaper and the treader of grapes, the sower. This is a picture of a massive explosion of
increase.
Today,
we are going to activate this reality.
What we are going to do is activate the tabernacle of David which is
worship. Then we will blow the shofar
over each of you and declare the prophetic promises of God over you. This will be recorded for you to revisit day
and night as you enter into the heart space of your destiny!
