The Anointing for Healing and Restoration - David Mitts

And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations. (Isaiah 61:4 NKJV)

Last week Charles taught us about bitter waters and the healing of the Lord by the tree. Let’s look at Exodus 15 and reconnect with that:

So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea; then they went out into the Wilderness of Shur. And they went three days in the wilderness and found no water. Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called Marah. [14] And the people complained against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?" So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them. And there He tested them, and said, "If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you."
(Exodus 15:22-26 NKJV)

Listen to Anointing for Healing and Restoration

Here we see a composite picture of the anointing to heal bitterness that was in the people as a result of slavery.  Slavery is acting under compulsion of a power that in the moment seems stronger than we are.  We can be a slave to many things.  I have been a slave to sugar cravings; I have been a slave to procrastination.  I have been a slave to disorganization and a slave to vain imaginations.  How about you? What has kept you from your destiny, your Promised Land?

So God brings us to the dessert, as Charles shared, the “mid-bar” the place of His Voice.

"Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Will bring her into the wilderness, And speak comfort to her. I will give her her vineyards from there, And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope; She shall sing there, As in the days of her youth, As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt. "And it shall be, in that day," Says the Lord, "That you will call Me 'My Husband,' [7] And no longer call Me 'My Master,' [8] For I will take from her mouth the names of the Baals, And they shall be remembered by their name no more.(Hosea 2:14-17 NKJV)

Last week we activated His voice in our bellies, the place of living waters.  Charles taught us that bitter waters reflect the bitterness in our hearts. Sweet waters then would reflect sweet waters in our heart. The tree or the cross is the agent of change.  Jesus is the power of the cross.  When He died on the cross, He died to free us from the voice of bitterness in our soul.

This is the place called forsaken or alone. Bitterness in Hebrew is the word marrar.  It means literally the headwaters of a river, where the river begins.  This is often just a trickle of water and is full of minerals or metals and has a bitter taste.  Water has to flow and get deep to be sweet.  Picture the sweet water as flowing with life.  The bitter water has a flow but it is mostly dirty and just beginning its move to life.  As the Israelites came out Egypt, their spirits were just starting to believe in the flow of life.  They still had the bitterness of soul of the metals of slavery.

At Marah, the waters are changed!  We have the experience of our bitterness that is from Egypt in our lives becoming sweetness through the cross, the tree.  The tree as Charles so beautifully expressed it, is the Word made flesh.  Yeshua is our tree of life.  This tree is what brings healing to the nations. Look with me at Revelation 22:1-5:

Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him; they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever. (Revelation 22:1-5 NASB)

This is a powerful picture. We see the river of the water of life.  This can only be the water that God spoke life to, the “living water” This river flows in the heart or in some translations, the belly.

He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
(John 7:38 NKJV)

The heart is the throne of God in our being.  The living water is the flow of His Spirit in us which we experience as His Voice.  On the sides of the river is the tree of life.  This is the tree that brings life.  It is the cross, and it is He who is the Tree of Life, Yeshua.  He is in us as the Tree. What does the Tree bear? 12 kinds of fruit and leaves for healing of the nations.  This is the picture of government, or authority of the kingdom.  So, we have in us a flow of government which brings light or order of the kingdom.  This breaks off the curse and brings us face to face with Him.

Now all of this is part of the anointing, the Mind of Messiah in us.  Now let’s look at our part of Isaiah 61 for today.  .Verse 4:

And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations. (Isaiah 61:4 NKJV)

The anointing is purposeful.  Part of the purpose illuminated here is to rebuild old ruins, places of devastation that are from the generations.  This is what many call ancestral curses.  What they are is the bitterness that we spoke of last week.  It is the trickle of the flow of water contaminated by the worldly environment.

Charles spoke last week about Dr. Caroline Leaf and the research on brain trees.  These are the structures of brain cells built upon the quality of our thought life.
Let’s look again at Psalm 1 in this light:

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. (Psalms 1:1-3 NKJV)

Since our brain cells are shaped by our thinking, it is not unreasonable to think that our DNA is changed by our thinking.  The Bible definitely teaches this.  This is called iniquity.  Research into alcoholism has shown that the DNA of an alcoholic passes the alcoholic tendency to the child.  So from this we can see a twisting of the blood line.  Because blood speaks, the counsel of the ungodly isn’t just about who we hang around with but also who has hung around us in our gene pool, our ancestors.

There is a counsel that speaks from our blood.  Look at Hebrews 12:24:

to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. (Hebrews 12:24 NKJV).

Abel’s blood still speaks through the bloodline of Adam. What is amazing about this is that Abel had no children but his death by the hand of Cain still speaks.  This means to me that we are hearing the voice of sin speaking in our hearts always.  This is the counsel of the ungodly.

Now, I’m not saying that we don’t also hear the counsel of the ungodly in our relationships as well. No! We attract people based on what is already in our heart. Out of the heart proceeds the evil

Yeshua said in Matthew 5:28

But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (Matthew 5:28 NKJV)

It isn’t that looking at a woman lustfully produces adultery in the heart. It is that adultery in the heart reveals itself by looking on a woman lustfully.  To expand that the blood counsel of the ungodly is speaking in our hearts and attracting us to the ungodly in our lives.  That is the cumulative counsel of the ungodly.  The anointing comes to change that to break off that yoke.

There are ancient ruins in our lives.  They are embedded in our blood lines and they seek to destroy God’s destiny for us.  These are the desolations of generations that the anointing comes to restore to God’s purpose in our lives.  Without the anointing though we will just try to control these urges and most likely fail.

We do have a destiny.  We do have a great purpose and we are the point of redemption for our blood line. Let’s finish up before our activation by looking again at Hebrews 12:

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake [60] not only the earth, but also heaven." [61] Now this, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may [62] serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.
(Hebrews 12:22-29 NKJV)

Four Points:
  1. We are called the first-born.  That means our ancestral bloodline is circumvented by us being grafted in directly to God.  We don’t have to carry our natural iniquity.
  2. We are just men being MADE perfect.  We are not perfect but are being MADE perfect.
  3. Yeshua’s blood is also speaking and He speaks of better things than Abel’s
  4. We are destined to receive a Kingdom which cannot be shaken which is by grace.

ACTIVATION:
  1. Prayerfully list “your tendencies”.  These are carnal attitudes in your heart that the Lord has spoken to you about.  These include lust, anger, greed, the desire to take, defensiveness.
  2. Confess these to your partner
  3. Partners will now press in for a word of healing for you.
