The Substance of the Anointing-Righteousness - David Mitts

Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. (Romans 6:13 NIV).

The anointing is the power that we are clothed with from on high to manifest the will of God in the earth.  It has a purpose, the thoughts and intents of the heart of God, which is called the mind of Christ, or the mind of Messiah.  Christ or Messiah means literally anointing.  So, to be in Christ, is to be operating in the anointing.
"I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience testifies with me in the Holy Spirit,"  Romans 9:1.
Listen to "Substance of the Anointing"

In the anointing, the Holy Spirit is speaking to our spirit and we can, if we choose to, tell the truth that we hear from Him, which then testifies with the Holy Spirit in agreement and produces the power of that truth. Our conscience bears witness that we operate in the truth, in the anointing.
Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. (1 John 3:21-22 NKJV)
The anointing, or power of God to do the things of God, has objectives.  It has come to restore things to their original intent and purpose. I believe that each person has a unique destiny.
""You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."  Acts 10:38
The oppression of the devil takes the form of poverty, sickness, broken hearts, thwarted generational destiny, addictions, bondages, and various other attitudes of toxicity of mind, heart and body.  The devil is a destroyer and a thief who seeks to devour the children of a loving God. Human Trafficking, sex slavery is a work of the devil.
"Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."  1 Peter 5:8
The devouring of the adversary begins in the mind, because unlike any other created being man is what he or she thinks.  If the enemy can direct your thoughts, he can derail your life.
"For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. "Eat and drink!" he says to you, But his heart is not with you."  Proverbs 23:7
The devouring of the enemy comes by building imaginations in the heart that are in opposition to the love of God.
"[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),"  2 Corinthians 10:5
Proud and lofty sounds like a person who is proud of themselves. While that is true, it is more insidious than that.  Proud and lofty is really anyone who operates in fear and anxiety.  Fear and anxiety are rooted in self-sufficiency as is proud and lofty.  Another way of thinking about this is that we have an alternative power source instead of the anointing.
While our enemy is a defeated foe, he is re-empowered when he seduces us to trust in another power source. He does this with fear.  We are the anointed of God and we need to train ourselves in accessing the anointing.  The access occurs through aligning the thoughts and imaginations of our heart with the truth of His Word.
God is spirit. Another way of saying that is God is Being.  He told Moshe, Moses: “I AM Who I AM”.
"And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.' ""  Exodus 3:14.
Being is the “isness” or identity of who someone is.  Abba Father is Himself fully.  He changes NOT.
""For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob."  Malachi 3:6
He and His thoughts are ONE. This is the essence of the prayer declaration called the SH’MA. Deut 6:4:
""Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!"  Deuteronomy 6:4
Yeshua, Jesus was in complete agreement with the Father.
"Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner."  John 5:19
He acting in oneness with the Father is why the anointing was operational fully in His life.
Since man’s “isness” or “being” arises out of the thinking in His heart, then when we align our thinking with His, having the mind of Christ, the mind of the anointing, then that same oneness will be our “being” and we will operate fully in that same anointing.  This was Yeshua’s final prayer for us.
""I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:"  John 17:20-22
This oneness of “isness” or “being” is why we worship.  Worship aligns our being with His Being.
"But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.""  John 4:23-24
Worshipping in Spirit and in Truth is the act of aligning ourselves with His thoughts in our mind and heart.  This is the place of joy and peace and righteousness in the Holy Spirit.
"for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."  Romans 14:17
Today, I want to look at the quality of righteousness.  There is probably no more contested ground than righteousness. The enemy knows that if we gain the viewpoint of righteousness, all is lost for the kingdom of darkness.
So exactly what is righteousness?
If you look up a definition, you will see that most people define righteousness based on behavior.  Righteousness based on behavior means doing what is the right or just thing in a situation.  It is being moral, ethical, and honest.
While that is certainly the common form of righteousness it is NOT the righteousness in the anointing.  The righteousness in the anointing is transformative!
Righteousness that is external is definitive.  We define people and actions by their behavior.  Righteous people in this sense do righteous things.
The righteous through the anointing do right things but more importantly, they become righteous.
This is the righteousness of faith. It isn’t that the righteousness of faith produces the right behaviors but that it transforms the heart into an identity of righteousness.  You aren’t a sinner who overcomes their sin nature; rather you are transformed into a new creation who “is” righteous.
"and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;"  Philippians 3:9
No longer is the righteousness of our own behavior but of the mind of Christ, the oneness of God through opening the ears and eyes of our heart to align with Him!
This is not just a positional reality but a new and living way, an inner Torah, a new covenant reality.
What this means is that instead of being wrong on the inside trying to be right on the outside and so being defensive and insecure, trying to cover up with our own fig leaf, we become right on the inside and can let that righteousness shine through.
Next week we will go deeper into righteousness. Today I want to go ahead and begin an activation to release into it:

Activation: Identify a problem area of your life where you feel you have failed or missed the mark in some manner.  By attunement through prayer and meditation, become as clear as possible within yourself as to what you believe to be the best way to proceed.  Is it consistent with the Word of God?  If so, apply that solution patiently and persistently with the consciousness that the try is counted as righteousness.  Regardless of the immediate outcome, are you more aware of yourself as a soul exercising your will?  When you meditate, do you feel closer to the Holy Spirit within?  This is oneness and the place where the anointing of God flows through your life.
