Communication is a vital part of all of our lives. Without it how do we interact with one another? Think about it…there are words, thoughts, pictures that are seen or heard for the most part. There is non verbal communication also however at its simplist form most communication is spoken and heard.

Greek definition for communication is - logos

Definition of communication - the imparting or exchanging of information or news.

Tower of Babel - Echad

Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. Then they said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks and bake [them] thoroughly." They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top [is] in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth." But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the LORD said, "Indeed the people [are] one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. "Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth. - Gen 11:1-9 NKJV

Pentacost - Echad in hearing

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, "Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? "And how [is it that] we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? - Act 2:4-8 NKJV

Language is a key aspect of communication

When a nation was conquered one of the first things done was change names and language.

young men in whom [there was] no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who [had] ability to serve in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans. And the king appointed for them a daily provision of the king's delicacies and of the wine which he drank, and three years of training for them, so that at the end of [that time] they might serve before the king. Now from among those of the sons of Judah were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. To them the chief of the eunuchs gave names: he gave Daniel [the name] Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abed-Nego. - Dan 1:4-7 NKJV

Though we may not be in a physical war, there is a spiritual battle and a key weapon is communication.

"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have [it] more abundantly. - Jhn 10:10 NKJV

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places]. - Eph 6:10-12 NKJV

Navajo Code Talkers

A code talker was a person employed by the military during wartime to use a little-known language as a means of secret communication. The term is now usually associated with United States service members during the world wars who used their knowledge of Native American languages as a basis to transmit coded messages. - Wikipedia

Corrupt communication

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told [you] in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those [who are] Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. - Gal 5:16-25 NKJV

And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; [they are] whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. - Rom 1:28-32 NKJV

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; - Jas 1:19 NKJV

Abundance of heart mouth speaks

"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. - Luk 6:45 NKJV

Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it [spring] the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you. - Pro 4:23-24 NKJV

God is Spirit - Omnipresent

"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." - Jhn 4:24 NASB20

in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, - Eph 2:2 NKJV

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers [and sisters] has been thrown down, the one who accuses them before our God day and night. - Rev 12:10 NASB20

You are a channel of communication. Utilized for Kingdom of God or Kingdom of darkness. Blessing or cursing.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. - Pro 18:21 NASB20

"See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, ... "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; - Deu 30:15, 19 NKJV

He who has an ear

Then He said to them, "Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. - Mar 4:24 NKJV

"So take care how you listen; for whoever has, to him [more] will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken away from him." - Luk 8:18 NASB20

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. - Jhn 10:27 NKJV

"Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. ... "But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: - Deu 28:1, 15 NKJV

Offence is a key to corrupt communication. To cause you to harden your heart.

A brother offended [is harder to win] than a strong city, And contentions [are] like the bars of a castle. - Pro 18:19 NKJV

"And blessed is [he] who is not offended because of Me." - Luk 7:23 NKJV

[It is] good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor [do anything] by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak. - Rom 14:21 NKJV

We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed. - 2Co 6:3 NKJV

Do not harden your hearts

while it is said: "Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion." - Heb 3:15 NKJV

Activation: React or respond. Corrupt communication comes from reacting to offense versus how you respond through the filter of the Spirit. Think about an area of your life where you reacted instead of responded. Ask the Lord to show you his response to the situation, ask him who he says you are. If you are willing repent for your reaction andexchange it for his reponse in your heart.
