Deliverance:The Sh’ma - David Mitts

““Hear, Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!” (Deuteronomy 6:4) To listen to the audio-only version click below  Giving Opportunity Message   Deliverance requires a deliverer. Our deliverer is Yeshua and He is known as the Word of God. In Hebrew, He is the Davar-Elohim. For a Word to be able to act as our deliverance, it must be heard. This is the beginning of faith or trust in the Word. “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17) In order to have a deliverance, we must have faith. In order to have faith, we must have “hearing”. Hearing is the Hebrew word sh’ma. The first use of sh’ma in the Bible occurs right in the beginning after Adam and Eve have disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. “Now they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of t...

Covenant Marriage - Session 6: Rootlessness - David and Lisa Mitts

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:26-27) To listen to the audio-only version click below  Giving Opportunity Message   Last chapter, we began looking at how we listen in our heart to make possible, the bearing of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. We looked at the parable of the sower in Mark’s gospel, the fourth chapter, and looked at the first heart condition, where the communication of another is snatched away by the Adversary, Satan, and cannot bear any fruit. We discovered that it is through offense, the bait of Satan, that the word or in this context, our communication with one another, is snatched away. We know it has occurred if we are at enmity with another who we once shared love wi...

Covenant Marriage - Session 5: Communication from an Open Heart - David and Lisa Mitts

“Therefore, take heed how you hear . For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him."” (Luke 8:18) To listen to the audio-only version click below  Giving Opportunity Message   The biggest secret to a deep and abiding love is an open and listening heart. The principal commandment from the Lord begins with the sh’ma, which means to listen with an open heart: “Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'HEAR, O ISRAEL, THE LORD OUR GOD, THE LORD IS ONE. ” (Mark 12:29) This is a direct quote of Deuteronomy 6:4, which goes on the speak of loving the Lord with all our heart and as Yeshua stated, our neighbor as ourselves. At the heart of these instructions is the sh’ma, the listening heart. This chapter, we want to focus on how to develop a listening heart and unlock the love that comes from true communication. The first foundation stone for true communication is the rock of liste...

Heart Meditations 3 - Whatever is Honorable - David Mitts

"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things; and the God of peace shall be with you." Philippians 4:8-9 As we press in to establish our heart in the storms of life, we touch heaven to change the earth. God’s will is more than a set of actions. God’s will is also very much about the spirit in which we live and move and have our being. "for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.'" Acts 17:28 God doesn’t only inhabit us, He transforms us into spiritual beings that live in Him. Heaven comes to earth through our spirit man. Like Jerusalem, the city of God, we are bi-located. Our physical body exis...

Derech, The Way - David Mitts

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6) The anointing of God is the power of God to manifest the will of God.  This is what Scripture calls the “Christ”.  Yeshua is the Christ, the anointed one.  He operates with the mind of God and thus reveals the will of God.  God’s thoughts and will are the same.  He is One. "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! (Deut 6:4) The declaration of the Sh’ma is the revelation of oneness but also the recognition that oneness and Lordship come through the way we listen. Listen to " Derech, The Way " If we return to our parable of the sower and the seed, we see that the heart conditions that produce various outcomes are ALL linked to listening. "Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. (Mar 4:3). Why does Yeshua begin with a command: “listen”?  There is a connection between how we listen and what we believe.  Trust is the ...

Who's Listening - David Mitts

Testimonies from previous activations This Week... Wisdom and Listening If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5 NIV) We have been speaking about wisdom for the last couple of weeks.  Wisdom simply defined is knowing God’s will and method in an area of life and doing it.  God is ready to give us wisdom in every area of life.  He gives it without reproach, without finding fault.   The issue for most us though is stated a little later in chapter 1: This you know, my beloved brethren. But let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. (James 1:19-21 NAS77) Today we are going to look at how we listen.  James under the leading ...
