Manifesting Sonship - David Mitts

"For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." Rom 8:14 (NASB)

Last chapter we spoke about the birthing times we are in and the travail to bring forth the sons and daughters of God. I want to look at some of the characteristics of the sons of God so that we can begin to extend our faith and order our inner conversation to align with the picture. This process is called meditation.

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer." Psa 19:14 (NASB)

The key word in this verse is the word translated as acceptable. In Hebrew, this is the word “ratzon” which means Your will. So, if we retranslated the verse with that perspective we could pray, “let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart align with Your Will as You see it, O Lord, which is the power of my reality like a rock that I can stand on and brings forth the redemption of my life, or my destiny that You have purposed for me. Acceptable sounds like an offering to a King who decides if it is good enough. Was my performance good enough to be acceptable? When I consider that there is a purpose to my meditation and my conversation that aligns itself with the will of God and this alignment brings about strength, the rock, and redemption, destiny then I realize that I have to invest in healing the meditations of my heart. This is part of the training of the sons and daughters of God.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it." Pro 22:6 (NKJV)

There are two words in this verse that reveal a deeper meaning than basic child-rearing. The first is the word translated for child or youth, “na-ar”. Na-ar is not actually the word for child, yeled. Na-ar is more a reference to an early immaturity, like a wildness of a horse. All the potential is present, but a process is necessary to train the horse to become a champion. There is much spirit but not enough truth yet. The second mystery word is the word translated as “old” zaken. Zaken is actually a word derived from the word picture of a beard. The beard is the symbol of developing the compassion and mercy of God in your life. If we do a composite representation of the verse, it morphs into the necessity of training and development by the Holy Spirit of the youthful potential that the born-again believer has into the developed character and destiny that God has for each of us.

Getting back to the ratzon and our meditations revealed by our words, there is a training process that begins with instruction from the Word, in images and pictures, not in letters and rules.

"who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life." 2Co 3:6 (NASB)

The Spirit speaks in images and pictures, the stuff of meditation. We don’t manifest in our lives what we want but what we picture. Look with me at Habbakuk 2

"I will stand on my guard post and station myself on the rampart; And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me, and how I may reply when I am reproved. Then the LORD answered me and said, "Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run. "For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay. "Behold, as for the proud one, His soul is not right within him; But the righteous will live by his faith." Hab 2:1-4 (NASB)

The rampart is where the threat from the enemy is. The prophet is the eyes of the army. He stands ready to see. Notice his language. He, who is the seer stands ready to see. How does he see? By what He hears and how he answers when reproved. Notice he doesn’t say, “if I am reproved”. He expects the correction of the Lord.

The fact that there is a battle is a sign that we need to adjust something. The Covid-19 virus outbreak is a sign that we need to adjust something. It didn’t happen to us for no reason. No! There is always something to see and change at the rampart.

The Lord will speak at the rampart to the seer. What He says will change how we see. We are in that sense the blind leading the blind. Our blindness is evidenced by the battle. We need a revelation, a transformation of our seeing which comes from His speaking which redefines our reality and what we are able to see. Our prophecy matches our seeing and so the meditations of our heart and the words of our mouth need a transformation. How we are currently seeing is the problem. God loves us and has a new image for us that will transform how we see Him, ourselves, and life itself. The current tribulation is a birthing opportunity, that happens by revelation, a prophetic breakthrough.

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God." Rom 8:18-19 (NASB)

How does the revealing come about? By a prophetic revelation. Back to Habakkuk: Then the LORD answered me and said, "Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run.

The Father answers with a vision. But He gives the vision by speaking. He does not tell Habakkuk to draw it. No, He tells Him to write it that the reader may run. Running in Hebrew is “rutz” which is the root of “ratzon”, the will. God’s will is revealed by His speaking which shifts the image we see and then we can run! This is how true sons live ready to be reproved by a shift in how we see things that comes through an intimate relationship of listening, the sh’ma.

""Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. "These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart." Deu 6:4-6 (NASB)

Listening with a heart that is ready to be reproved and shifted into seeing through alignment with God’s ratzon, His will is a heart that can grasp the place of oneness. This is how we love Him by allowing Him to change us into His image and likeness for us.

""If you love Me, you will keep My commandments." Joh 14:15 (NASB)
We cannot “keep” His commandments seeing things the way we see them. We need to stand on the ramparts and listen, to change how we see, which will change what we see. When we see how He sees we have been already transformed. This is how we know how we are seeing by the reality that we now can live in or manifest in.

I like the term manifest because it implies that we show up in a new way. We don’t have the things we want. No, we become the solution to our brokenness.

This is a transformation. It transforms our thinking to come into oneness with the thinking of the Father. This is what I think mind renewal is truly about.

Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever. Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he will never be shaken; The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established; He will not be afraid, Until he sees his desire upon his enemies. He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honor. The wicked will see it and be grieved; He will gnash his teeth and melt away; The desire of the wicked shall perish. (Psa 112:1-10 NKJV)

First and foremost, we recognize that we are of a lineage. The Father births Fathers and Mothers in the Earth and inheritance is to have an inheritance. You are destined for a legacy. Now, you might say, that you don’t have natural children. Or you might have them and they seem far away.

Remember your authority comes from the Name of Yeshua, His character, and power. What did He say about natural descendants?

For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother." (Mat 12:50 NKJV)

So, while you may or may not have descendants in the natural, by the word of the Lord you WILL have spiritual descendants. I know it’s tough to want your natural family to know and love Yeshua, but that is not always the case. If it wasn’t for Him, in whose name you exist, then it also may not be for you or me as much as we would want otherwise. Each person has to choose Him, regardless of pedigree.

So, the first meditation of the heart that I want to finish with today is how we look at people. Our meditation has to change from one of favoritism to one of love where we treat all people as family. This is the first part of the inheritance of being in His name.

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.' Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.' Math 25:34-40.

Activation: Meditate on who are the least of these who are your brothers and sisters that are to Yeshua those in His name? Think about how to walk as a son or a daughter of the King in this hour.
